Seeing Things Pink is a project of spirit, city life, non-predetermined encounters, curiosity, and a sense of escape. A moment of reprieve.
It was wonderful to be out from the stay-at-home, masking our mouth precautions we had been working our way out of at the time (and many people/families are still affected today- my heart goes out to them).
I was there visiting for a book event produced by American Photography for the release of the AP37 book publication and exhibition of photography and illustrations. This would be the first of three I had the opportunity to be included in.
While there, exploring the Bowery scene I couldn’t believe how many pink outfits, bikes, vehicles, fences, small businesses, et cetera, there were all at once! And this thematic color choice was present in the adjacent areas. It was clear quite immediately that pink was my subject matter.
There were nearly 250 photographs in total and it was a challenge to select eight of them to represent my overall observations.

Addendum images are a prospect. Time will tell.
